Wilkinson, 81, former Ionia merchant, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rena Sidas, of Detroit, Saturday afternoon, April 11, following a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. Wilkinson was born in Keene township and attended school there. He moved to Saranac and operated a harness and implement store several years later moving to Ionia where he had a newsstand. About six years ago he left Ionia and lived in the northern part of Michigan until two years ago he went to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sidas, in Detroit. Surviving are two daughters, Rena and Edna, both of Detroit, a son, Clare, and one granddaughter, Miss Jean Wilkinson, of Lansing. Funeral services will be conducted from the Densmore funeral chapel in Saranac Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with burial in the family lot in the Saranac cemetery.
