Wilkinson, 73, Saranac businessman for 44 years, died at Blodgett Memorial hospital Friday night, November 24, where he was a patient for ten days, after fracturing his hip in a fall. He had been i n poor health for several months. He was born February 14, 1877, in Keene township and always lived there. After attending business college in Grand Rapids, Wilkinson purchased a partnership in the Saranac hardware store owned by the late Leroy Hunter. Upon Hunter's retirement, Norman Oglesbee was in business with him until he moved to Ionia. Wilkinson then operated the store alone until six years ago when Minor Carman and Cecil Morris bought him out. Wilkinson was a director of the Saranac Oil and Gas company for over 25 years until poor health forced him to resign. Surviving are the wife, Edythe; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Price of San Luis O'Bispo, Calif., and Mrs. Uldine Miller of Jackson; one granddaughter; two great- grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Floy Gold of Lowell; and one brother, Dr. M. B. Wilkinson of Saranac. Funeral services will be held from the Morris funeral home Monday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Saranac cemetery.
