He retired in his usual health Thursday evening and upon being called Friday morning made no response. On going to his room he was found dead in his bed, with his head resting on his hand, and appeared to be asleep, so peaceful had been his passing away. He was upward of 78 years of age, a prominent farmer and a man of considerable wealth. Years ago he was a familiar figure upon our streets, doing all his trading with our merchants, and many of our readers will well remember him. The funeral services were held last Sunday and the remains were interred in the cemetery at Maple.
