Johnson, was born in Monroe Co., New York State, on March 11, 1846, coming to Huron Co., Michigan in 1867 where she taught school, later teaching in Ionia. She was married to J. L. Williams on March 18, 1890 in Lake Odessa, later residing in this city. Mr. Williams was a soldier in the Civil war suffering injuries which led to his death in 1914. Mrs. Williams died on Thursday, May 7, as the result of an accident sustained during the winter. She was cared for during her illness by a niece, Mrs. W. H. Willsey, and husband, also by Mr. and Mrs. Leon Willsey. She was 90 years, 1 month and 27 days old. Surviving are a brother, Robert Johnson, of Batavia, N. Y., the niece, Mrs. Willsey, and other nieces and nephews, six of the latter coming from Ligonier, Ind., to act as pallbearers. A cousin, Joseph Johnson, of Lake Odessa, also survives. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church on Sunday afternoon at two o’clock, the Rev. B. J. Adcock officiating. Burial was in the Lake Odessa cemetery.
