The service was conducted by the venerable Rev. D.E. Millard of Portland, who performed the marriage ceremony which united Mr. and Mrs. Williamson in a tie only broken by death, in 1864 – forty-three years ago. The service in every way was appropriate and impressive, the minister paying just tribute to the sterling character of deceased. The singing was by Mrs. Thane Benedict and Mrs. Wm. Todd. The bearers were six shop friends. Remains were taken on 7:30 train this morning to Marshall, accompanied by the bereaved widow, the two sons, Robt. W., of Muskegon, and Irving of Lima, Ohio, with their wives; and the daughter, Mrs. A.L. Herbert with her husband, of Traverse City. J. McRoberts, a cousin of Grand Rapids, and his daughter, also here to attend the funeral, returned home this morning. The floral tributes were most profuse, and of course very beautiful. A mammoth wheel sent by the employees of the car shops was a superb design.
