Williams, 68, 5070 Coats Grove road, Hastings, died Monday evening at Pennock hospital in Hastings. She was born in Grand Rapids July 6, 1908, the daughter of George Cook and Clara Ortman. She attended high school in Grand Rapids. She married Lafayette Williams July 10, 1925 in Battle Creek. They lived in Grand Rapids until 1930 when they moved to Barryton for six years, then they lived in Freeport before moving to Hastings. She was a member of the Kilpatrick United Brethren church, the Women’s Missionary association and the Senior Citizen’s Nutrition association. She was employed at the Post Office in Nashville. Surviving are her husband, seven sons, Lafayette Jr. of Vermontville, Richard of Battle Creek, Walter of Grand Rapids, Lloyd and Michael of Hastings, Larry of Woodland and James of Nashville; and one daughter, Mrs. Charlene Halliwill of Woodland. Also surviving are four brothers, Fred Cook of Dorr, Harold Cook of Orlando, Florida; Clarence Cook of Ada and Walter Cook of Hopkins. Thirty- three grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Williams will be at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa until Thursday morning. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Kilpatrick United Brethren church, Rev. George Speas officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside cemetery, Lake Odessa.
