Her family was at her side. Edith was born May 16, 1918, in Spencer Township, Kent County, to Herbert W. House and Sarah McClain House. She worked at Jolly Kid in Belding, Ranney Refrigerator and Greenville Public Schools. She will always be remembered for her wonderful wit, kindness and teaching us our moral and spiritual values. She loved camping, hunting, fishing and the out-of-doors. She loved a good poker game with family and her casino trips. She loved life and her family so very much and taught us to always count our blessings. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 45 years, Harley VanHoose, Sr.; sisters and brothers, Mabel Paulsen, Thelma Green, John House, Herbert House, Hilda Rydahl, Clayton House; and stepfather, Gordon Musser. She is survived by her husband, George Williams; children, Harley Jr. and Linda VanHoose, Richard and Nora Ellen Godfrey, Richard VanHoose; daughter-in-law, Beverly VanHoose; grandchildren, Kelly Godfrey, Tracey and Gary Valentine, Sandy and Steve Wood, Steve and Shelly Godfrey, Mike and Beth Godfrey, Harley III “Lee” and Barb VanHoose, Mark and Cathy VanHoose, Lori and Steve Engel, Sheila and Kevin Miller, Beth and Tom Hallock, Rick and Julie VanHoose; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; twin brothers, Burl and Suzanne Musser, Earl and Emma Musser; sisters-in-law, Murial VanHoose Marx of Bradenton, Fla., Thelma House of Greenville; very dear friends, John and Dora Christensen; sister-in-law, Rosetta Packard of North Fort Myers, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Bob and Annabelle Williams, Milo Williams, all of Greenville; stepdaughter, Karen O’Gara of Jacksonville, Fla.; three step-granddaughters and one step-grandson; nine step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at Greenville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Harry R. Johnson officiating. Burial is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church or Hospice of Michigan.
