Jack Williams, 65, Belding, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 1997, at United Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. He was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Belding, the son of the late Howard G. Williams and Agnes Badder Williams of Greenville. He married Ruth Antcliff of Belding. Mr. Williams worked at Frigidaire from 1947 to 1951 and 1953 to 1994, where he retired as a welder. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a life member of the Belding VFW and the American Legion in Greenville. He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Dawn and Callie Wireman of Orleans, and Carla Christensen of Belding; a son, R. Jack Williams Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Marguerite Bodine of San Jacinto, Calif.; a half-sister, Karen Craig of Greenville; two step-sisters, Betty Brown of Belding and Shirley Brown of Miami, Fla.; a stepbrother, Leo Rector of Grand Rapids; and brother-in-law, Alvie Antcliff of Muskegon; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard G. Williams and a brother, Alvin “Bud” Williams. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Huffman Funeral Home, Belding, with the Rev. Philip McQueen officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
