April 10, 2012 Glenn W. Williams, 93, of Ionia passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at home under the loving care of his family and Ionia Area Hospice. Glenn was born on April 2, 1919 in Lake Odessa, the son of Claude and Minnie (Aungst) Williams. He graduated from Stanton High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was proud to have served in the 126th Infantry, 32nd Division, Company H, Red Arrows. He was part of the Papuan Campaign achieving the rank of staff sergeant. He had retired after 30 years of service a Federal Mogul in Greenville. Glenn was a life member of the Sheridan VFW Post 5056 and of the Belding-Ionia-Lowell Masonic Lodge. He was married on Sept. 2, 1949 in Angola, Ind., to Pauline Tuller and she survives along with their daughter and son-in-law, Norma and Randy Thurlow of Ionia; his grandchildren, Edward and Tammy Sage, Samuel and Jodi Sage; his great grandchildren, Brooke Sage, Trisha Sage and Cody Gallagher, and two sister, Velma Ronk of Hudsonville and Norma Jean Drake of Grand Rapids. Glenn was preceded by his parents and two brothers, Melvin and Leo. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be noon Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Greg Gladding officiating. Masonic services and full military honors will follow the service. Burial will take place at a later date in Rest Haven Memory Gardens. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour before the service. Memorials may be given to Ionia Area Hospice.
