CHARLES W. WILLIAMS
Charles W. Williams, 82, died at his home in Belding Thursday evening at 11:40
o'clock. He had been ill for the past year.

He was born June 11, 1865, at Port Sanilac the oldest of thirteen children of George
and Mary Williams. He moved to Belding 50 years ago and has engaged in various work
since then at the Belding-Hall Refrigerator company and the Belding Bros. Silk company.
Before his retirement in August, 1946, he was employed at the Murray corporation. He was a
member of the Methodist church.  F & A.M. lodge No. 355 of Belding and the I. O. O.
F. lodge. Williams was first married to Mary E. Godfrey on August 18, 1890.  She died
in 1924. In December 1926 he married Myra Treat, his present wife.

Surviving him  are the wife, Myra; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Johnson of Petosky and
Mrs. Emma Greenhoe of Grand Rapids; three step-daughters, Mrs. Sidney LaFont of Muir,
Mrs. Herman Hoyt of Pierson and Mrs. Loren E. Belding of Belding; 12 grandchildren; 5
great-grandchildren; and five brothers, John of Marquette, Frank of Applegate, Will of
Trenary, Elvin of Belding and Fred of Gladstone, Oregon.

The body will be returned to the home Friday and remain there until Sunday. Funeral
services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Fales-Huffman funeral
home. The Rev. J. Ray Gillham of the Central Methodist church will have charge. Interment
will be in River Ridge cemetery. The Masonic order will have charge of the grave services.
