Nov. 15, 1956 LEON WILLIAMS DIED WEDNESDAY Leon N. Williams, 76, of route 3, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at his home on Musgrove highway about 3 1/2 mikes northeast of town. He had been a teacher in his early years and taught at the Travis and Johnson rural schools and served 21 years on the school board of the rural Bretz School. Mr. Williams was supervisor for Odessa township for 8 years from 1922 to 1930. He retired from farming 7 years ago and resided on the same farm for the last 50 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Mabel Cook; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Myrtle) Childs of Breckenridge, Mrs. Vern (Iva) Reed of Vermontville, Mrs. Donal (Edith) Bippley, Mrs. Lyle (Mildred) Ingall and Mrs. Keith (Bernice ) Bulling all of Lake Odessa; two sons Claude of Lowell and Gerald of Lake Odessa; 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 at the Pickens funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. Duane McNeil of the Sebewa Baptist Church officiated.
