May 12, 2018 Excerpts from Obituary: Sylvia Williams, died Wednesday May 2, 2018-age 86 at Vermontville Born September 22, 1931 at Lake Odessa, to Howard D. and Mable (Armour) Poff Graduated from lake Odessa High School in 1949, earned her Batchelor degree in Education from Western Michigan University Married Lafayette Williams at Lake Odessa in 1953 Taught Home Economics in the Hudsonville school System, in 1960s moved to Vermontville, where she taught at Fuller Street School until retiring from teaching in 1985. Worked as the Register of Deeds for Eaton County until retiring in 1995 Remained member of Greater Federation of Women's Club in Vermontville Survived by two daughters, a son, two sisters and six grandchildren. Preceded in death by her infant son, her husband, and her sister, Virginia Trumble. Funeral service were at The Daniels Funeral Home of Nashville, on Saturday May 5, with Pastor Karen Kinney officiating. Interment was at Freemire cemetery in Sunfield township. Memorial contributions may be made to Maple Valley Scholarship Fund or Lake Odessa Historical Society. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Daniels Funeral Home in Nashville.
