Williams, 76, of Lake Odessa, died Monday at his residence. He was born May 25, 1917, in Odessa Township, the son of Leon and Mabel Cook Williams. He married the former Ruby Goodemoot in July of 1934. He was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Lake Odessa rea. He was an Odessa Township supervisor for 17 years. He worked at Poff-Lapo John Deere in Lake Odessa for six years. He was Drain Commissioner for nine years and also served on the Mental Health Board of Ionia County for several years. He was on the Ionia Count Board of Public Works at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife Ruby of Lake Odessa; one son, Dale of Newaygo; two daughters, Ann Cusack of Hastings and Marie Brodbeck of Lake Odessa; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three sisters, Iva Reed of Alma, Edith Bipley of Hastings and Bernice Bulling of Lake Odessa. He was preceded in death by one son, Leonard, two sisters, Myrtle Childs and Mildred Ingall, and one brother, Claude. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, with the Rev. Emmett Kadwell officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeside Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral chapel from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday and from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial has been established for the Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
