William H. Williams, aged 65 years. Death resulted from enlarged prostate. Deceased was born at Elizabeth, New Jersey, Nov. 27th, 1823. He enlisted May 22d, 1861 as a private in Co. The gruff, rugged address inherited while a commanding officer in the war seemed to cling to him till death, but his heart always went out in sympathy for a comrade in distress. He has been an active member of John Megarah post since its organization, and has twice been elected its commander. The funeral services were held in the Methodist church Monday afternoon, Rev. J. W. Hallenbeck officiating, assisted by Rev. D. E. Millard, Chaplain of post. The post attended in a body. Mr. Williams leaves a wife and four children, Edward of this place, Harry who is now in Central America, William of Ionia, and Mrs. Emma Dalzelle, an adopted daughter, of Muir.
