Williston received a letter about noon Saturday, announcing the death of his father, Scott Williston, a pioneer and long-time resident of this city, but whose home for the past few years has been near Petoskey. For some weeks he has been at the home of his son Fed, a mail route agent on Michigan Central, residing at Eaton Rapids. Decedent served during the war as a member of First Mich. Eng. and Mech., and was a member of Wm. H. Borden post. Remains were received here for interment at Balcom cemetery. Relatives present from out the city to attend the last sad rites for Scott Williston were the widow; Fred, son, of Eaton Rapids; Fordyce and Adah, son and daughter, of Petoskey; Miss Minnie, daughter, of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Tiggis, of Toledo; Mrs. Henry Minnich, sister, of Chicago; Mrs. John Malcomson, a sister, and her daughter, Miss Fuller, of Owosso; N. G. Fuller of Elkhart, Ind., and Miss Fannie Balcom of Lowell. All returned home Wednesday, except Mrs. Minnich and Mrs. Malcomson.
