Wilson Answered The Summons This Morning At Three O’clock. Had Resided in Home on East Main Street for Sixty Years - Leaves Five Children - Funeral Will Be Held Monday Afternoon The death of Mrs. Helen M. Wilson, which has been looked for for several days at any time, occurred this morning about 3 o’clock at her home on East Main Street. Mrs. Wilson had been confined to the house for many months and to the bed for some time. She was 81 years of age and her age was the chief cause of her death although a fall which she suffered some time ago contributed to her weakness. Mrs. Wilson was born in Cayuhaga county, New York, August 10, 1832, and came to Michigan with her parents when 12 years of age in 1844. Her father was Charles Moseman and her mother’s maiden name was Harriet V. Mills. Her father upon his arrival at Ionia engaged in the mercantile business in which he remained for many years. Her marriage to Henry J. Wilson took place April 5, 1854 immediately after which they moved into the home which has always been her home since. Mr. Wilson died April 21, 1879. Mrs. Wilson has been a member of the Presbyterian church for many years and an active and earnest supporter of church affairs. She has been an active and loyal member of the W.C.T.U. and has been prominent in the city, county and state organizations. Five children survive her, Mrs. Lee M. Hutchins, Charles M. Wilson, W.K. Wilson, and Hugh E. Wilson of Grand Rapids, and Gilbert W. Wilson, who resided here with his mother. The funeral will be attended Monday afternoon at two o’clock from the residence. Friends are invited to attend the services but the burial will be private. It is requested that flowers be omitted. Rev. W.K. Spencer, pastor of the Presbyterian church will conduct the service.
