Wilson, at the home on South Dexter street Tuesday afternoon, was largely attended by neighbors and friends who had long known and highly esteemed her as one of the truly good women, strong in the performance of the duties of life. The service was by Rev. Dr. Callen, pastor of the Methodist church, where Mrs. Wilson had long worshipped and to the membership of which she was best known. The singing was by Mrs. L. P. Brock and Mrs. Thane Benedict. Burial was in family lot, Highland park. The bearers were Levi Marshall, B. G. Fleming, Henry Gable, C. A. Greenhoe, H. C. Taggart and D.O. Cheney. Numerous floral testimonials marked the sympathy and sorrow of many friends. The graduating class of high school, of which the daughter, Miss Lucile, was a member and members of Beatrice lodge D. of R., attended the service in a body. Ida M. McConnell was the maiden name of deceased, and she was born in the township of Benton, Eaton county, Mich., Sept. 11, 1854. Her marriage to Riley N. Wilson was at same place, Feb. 20, 1872. It was soon afterwards, about 35 years ago they took up their residence in Sebewa, this county. For 21 years she had been a resident of Ionia city, where her husband died June 12, 1906. Eight children were born to them, of whom five survive: Lura, wife of Fred A. Dalzell, M. Dee Wilson and Lucile, the youngest whose home was with the mother, all of Ionia; Hugh E. Wilson, Detroit, and Max of Grand Rapids. A mother and sister also survive, living in Charlotte. All the children were present at the funeral, and also the sister, Mrs. Jennie Meade of Charlotte, and her daughter, Mrs. Peter Beasor of Eaton Rapids, and L. O. Wilson, brother of deceased husband, and his wife, of Sunfield.
