Wilson, 54, of 217 Dye St., Ionia, died unexpectedly at Ionia County Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. He was born July 17, 1926 in Alma, the son of George and Erma Wilson. He attended Ionia Public Schools and served as a U.S. Army paratrooper during World War II. He was the retired sexton of Carson City Cemetery and attended the Ionia Church of the Nazarene. He was married to Clela Welch in May 1960; she survives him. Also surviving him are four sons, Timothy of Ionia, James of St. Johns, Charles of Greenville and Keith of Langston; two stepsons, Larry Toth of Laingsburg and Chet Toth of Ionia; two daughters, Mrs. Erma Jones and Penny Wilson, both of Ionia. Three brothers, William and Floyd of Greenville, and Robert of Belding and one sister, Mrs. Crystal Ricks of Belding, and 20 grandchildren, also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir, the Rev. Kirk Stark weather of Ionia Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Carson City Cemetery.
