Wendell M. Wilson, 28, Airforce Base, Selfridge Field, Mount Clemens, was instantly killed at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, October 31, at New Hudson. He was coming home on a weekend pass when struck by a car. S-Sgt. Wilson was born May 8, 1925 at Proctor, North Carolina. He was the son of Clarence and Lieeli Wilson. He had served in the Air Force for 2 years and 3 months. His family had been living at the base until they returned to Lake Odessa, September 15. Surviving him are his wife, Lucy, and four children, Jackie, Wendell Jr., Gloria Jean, and Charles, 9 months; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilson. He reposes at the Pickens funeral chapel where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. The LaVern Demaray Post No. 112 of the American Legion will be in charge of the service. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. The Rev. Paul Robinson will officiate.
