Wilson died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edgar Hall, Wednesday, June 18th, aged 68 years, he had been a resident here for several years and was a highly respected citizen, possessing a happy and generous disposition. He was born in Herkimer county, N.Y. and came to Michigan when five years old. He served in the civil war from 1862 till its close, the last year he was a prisoner in Andersonville prison. In October 1865, he married Miss Jane Hawley, who survives him, also three daughters, Mrs. Maude Payne of Maple Rapids, Mrs. Mable Phillips of Grand Ledge and Mrs. Emma Hall of Belding. The funeral services was held Friday at the house, Rev. G.W. Maxwell officiated and the remains were taken to Ionia for interment by the side of his son, who died in infancy.
