Jan. 6, 1972 Furman Wilson Dies January 1 Furman (Jack) Wilson, 44, passed away Saturday afternoon at Pennock Hospital, Hastings, after a short illness. He was born June 20, 1927, in Proctor, N. C., the son of Clarence and Lillie (Mack) Wilson, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He resided here and also in the South before returning here about a year ago from Asheville, N. C. and was employed by the Lake Odessa Canning Co. Surviving are a daughter, Denise in Florida; a son, Lonnie C.; a grandson; his mother, Mrs. Lillie Wilson of Lake Odessa; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Galaviz of lake Odessa, and two brothers, Robert of Lake Odessa and Arnold of Greensboro, N.C. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Pickens Funeral Chapel. Rev. Gary Lyon officiated, with burial in lakeside cemetery.
