Dec. 14, 2016 WAYNE MILTON WILSON Lake Odessa, MI - Wayne Milton Wilson, age 93, of Lake Odessa, passed away on December 19, 2016 at the Laurels of Kent in Lowell. He was born on August 27, 1923 to Charles and Eunice (Thompson) Wilson at Moundsville, WV. He was a graduate of Scio High School class 1941. He was a decorated WW II veteran earning the Bronze Star, Marksman Badge, Parachutist Badge and a Presidential Unit Citation to name a few. Wayne worked as a welder for GM. He loved to feed birds and watch the squirrels, and watching the Tigers play. He was a member of VDW Post 4461 Jackson-Mutschler in Lake Odessa. Wayne is survived by daughter, Joyce (Doug) VanderLoon; three Grandchildren, John Steward, Rebecca (Darren) White, Lacey (Mark) Cunningham; nine great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Eunice Wilson; daughter, Janet (Wes) Mosher; grandchild, Kirk Steward; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Glen Wilson; sister, Wilda Smoyer; sister, Grace Wilson; first wife and mother of his children, Hazel and second wife Maxine. Visitation was held Friday Dec. 23, 2016, 2 PM at Koops Funeral Chapel, Inc. Lake Odessa,MI. Funeral service was held on Friday, December 23, 2016, 3 PM at Koops Funeral Chapel, lake Odessa. Burial will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery next to Hazel.
