Ionia Sentinel, Thurs., Dec. 13, 1900
Miss Ora Wilson died at the home of her sister, Mrs Matt Gooby, in North 
Plains, Sunday, aged 17 years. Funeral held Tuesday at M.E. church conducted 
by Rev. W.A. Exner, and was quite largely attended. Last winter Ora spent some 
weeks at our home. At that time a strong, robust girl, but while at Ionia at 
work she was taken with quick consumption and all was done for her that could 
be, but to no avail. It seems truly sad that one just reaching womanhood with 
all its hopes and joys should be stricken down. Yet could we see with the eye 
of a kind providence things that look so strange and mysterious would be made 
plain.
