LUCRETIA WILSON DIES AT DUQUESNE
Lived in Lake Odessa Many Years was 95 Years of Age. Respected and Admired by 
Many Friends.  

News reached several friends of Mrs.Lucretia Wilson, here this week of her death 
on February 19th at 12:45 PM, 1928 at Duquesne, PA.

Mrs.Wilson was born February 4, 1833. She was the last one of a family  of 
fifteen, all of whom lived to a good old age. The father and a brother died 
younger, the father in an accident, and the brother in the Mexican War in 1847.

She leaves two children, one in Lansing and one in Duquesne, several grand 
children and several nephews, among whom is Porter Parker, who has spent several 
years with her here in Lake Odessa.

Mrs.Wilson came here twenty year ago, to keep the home of her brother, Uncle 
John McMullen, who died at the age of 104 years.At his death, Mr.Parker, the 
nephew came to Lake Odessa to live with her. Recent years he has spent the 
winters in the south and she at Duquesne with her daughter, Mrs.Howard Calcott.

Mrs.Wilson was very fond of flowers, had a very kind and loving personality, she 
was very very active especially for one of her age, often coming up town doing 
her own errands, and independently taking the trips spring and fall alone after 
the ninety year mark.

It was said hat she was beautiful as she lay in her casket, not looking to be 
more than fifty years of age.

She died of La grippe following three days illness.

The funeral was held in the church of Christ, where she attended since childhood 
and where she was baptized at Four Mile Run, Mahoning County, Ohio.

Mr.Parker, her nephew, is still in Beloxi, Miss.
