January 12, 2024 DOUGLAS E. WILSON GREENVILLE -Douglas E. Wilson, age 86 of Greenville, passed away at Hathaway Hills Assisted Living on January 4, 2024. He was born March 17, 1937 in Atlanta,MI ths son of Leafa June (Bearegard) and Archie Wilson. On April 29, 1978, he married Dawn Reynolds, and they enjoyed 43 years of marriage until her passing in November 2020. Doug was previously a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Ionia.He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, and helping on the farm and was a regular at the casino when able. Most of all he loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and bragged them up to whom ever would listen. Doug worked for the State of Michigan for 27 years, retiring in 1989. He also worked at Detroit Gasket in Belding and Meijer in the early years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn; parents; sister,Sally Albright and brother, Roger Wilson. Douglas is survived by his children, Patricia(Ronnie) Shindledecker of Sidney,Douglas Wilson Jr., of Belding, Calvin (Mary) Wilson of Belding, Priscilla (Matt) Mahar of Greenville, and stepson, Robert (Ina) Reynolds of Richland; grandchildren, Laura (Jon) Feinauer, Dr.Aimee (Derek) Kitti, Bryan (Andrea)Mahar, Benjamin (Sally) Mahar, Courtney (Tony) Brokaw; great-l,Eliot, Sam, Lena, Walter,Paulina , Lucy, Owen, Parker, Madden, Finn and two additional on the way; brothers, Randy (Cindy)Wilson and Reggie (Doreen)Wilson, both of Atlanta,MI. Graveside services will be held on Thursday January 11, 2024, at Rest Haven memory Gardens, Belding at 11 AM. memorial contributions may be directed to Corewell Health Hospice or a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Hathaway Hills and Corewell Health Hospice for their compassionate care.
