Sudden Death Takes Popular Local Dentist

Rites Wednesday For Dr. O. N. Wilton, Resident Here 34 Years.

A heart attack suffered late Sunday afternoon, proved fatal to Dr. Orvie Nathan
Wilton, age 57, well-known local dentist, who passed away at his home on E. Ann
street only a short time after his return from Florida where, with Mrs. Wilton,
he had spent the winter months.  On Saturday, Dr. Wilton had attended the
wedding of his daughter, Barbara, to R.M. Feuerstein, which took place at St.
Joseph’s church in this city.

A graduate of Charlotte high school and the University of Michigan dental
school, Dr. Wilton had practiced dentistry in this city since 1913.  In 1916 he
was married to Marie A. Reed of this city.  He was a member of the
Congregational church, Masonic Lodge No. 355, F & AM, the Grey Mare club, the
Michigan State Dental society and the local Sportsmen’s club.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. R.M. Feuerstein of this city,
and Mrs. Richard Smucker of Salem, Ohio, and one granddaughter, Susan Smucker.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Ellis Funeral
Home, Rev. H.S. Ellis officiating at the rites, and burial was made in River
Ridge cemetery.  Honorary pallbearers were Louis Leonard, George Crawford, Earl
Wilson and Jean Rogers and active pallbearers were Edward Rockefeller, J. Byron
Cook, Frank M. Donovan and William B. Wood, all of this city, C.N. Wilson of
Owosso, and Frank O’Bryon of Grand Rapids.
