The Ionia Standard, Friday, December 18, 1914

Lemuel L. Winchell, pioneer resident of this vicinity, and esteemed citizen, 
died at the family home on North Jefferson street just outside the city 
limits, at 5:30 Thursday evening.  He is survived by four children and the 
widow.  Funeral was held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the residence, 
and will be private.  Rev. C. E. Hoag will officiate, and interment was in Oak 
Hill cemetery.
