Mr. Winchell was 56 years old, and had lived here in Ionia for many years, having been employed by Haight & Jepson, Dean & Eyster and the last place, Carten’s store. Mr. Winchell had been in very poor health for years, and last winter went south in hopes of regaining lost strength, but came back no better. In all his work in Ionia he became acquainted with many people, and was held in great estimation, by the public whom he served, and also by the firms and people with whom he worked. He had worked for Carten’s store for about nine years, when he left about four and a half years ago, on account of his failing health. He leaves to survive him his wife, Mrs. Alice Winchell. He was a nephew of Monroe Winchell of this city and a cousin of Walter Winchell, and Dr. Clarence Winchell. The funeral will be held at 3 o’clock Wednesday at the residence, 625 Lafayette street, Rev. E. E. Branch officiating.
