JAMES CHARLES WINEMAN
James Charles Wineman, 68, of Ionia passed away Jan. 31, 2016 in Grand Rapids. 
He was born Oct. 24, 1947 in Midland, the son of Oliver and Iva (Bennett) 
Wineman.

James married Penny Moore on March 19, 1971. He worked as a Corrections Officer 
until retirement in 2003. James was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam.

James is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Penny Wineman of Ionia; 
children, Charles (Kendra) Wineman of Cedar Springs, Chris (Scott) Mathe of Lake 
Odessa, and David (Jessica) Wineman of Wyoming, Michigan; grandchildren, Tristin 
Mather, Courtnie Mathe, and Rebekah Wineman; brothers, Mike (Roberta) Wineman of 
Stanton, Bob (Shirley) Wineman of Texas, Tom (Sally) Wineman of Atlanta, 
Michgian, and Terry Wineman of Breckenridge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; and sisters, Susan and 
Pat.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, Feb 5 at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Pastor Jon Van Dop officiating. Visitation on Thursday from 3-6 PM at
