Aug. 6, 1936 SERVICES MONDAY FOR AN ESTEEMED LADY Mrs. Marquebell Winey of Lake Odessa Dies at Home of Daughter. Funeral at Home Here. After an illness of three months from a heart ailment and complications, Mrs. Marquebell Winey, widow of the late John G. Winey, passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Arthur Klahn in Lansing on Friday evening, July 31. The body was brought to the home in Lake Odessa and from there funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 3, at two p.m. with the Rev. J. E. Cook of the Congregational church at Clarksville reading the service. Mrs. Winey will be greatly missed from this community where she had many relatives and friends. She always had a smile of greeting indicative of the beautiful spirit within. ~Obituary~ Marquebell Gerkey, daughter of Hannah and George Gerkey, was born on November 30, 1872, Barry county, Michigan, and passed away on July 31, 1936, at the home of her daughter in Lansing, Mich., at the age of 63 years and eight months. On September 10, 1890 she was united in marriage to John G. Winey and to this union one daughter was born, now Mrs. Edna Klahn of Lansing. The husband and father passed away on July 24, 1929. Mrs. Winey leaves to mourn their loss, the daughter and son-in-law Edna and Arthur Klahn, two granddaughters, Mary Jane and Joan Marquebell Klahn, also one brother and two sisters, Murray E. Gerkey of Otsego, Mrs. Etta Richardson of Hastings and Mrs. Donna Koch of Grand Rapids. Many other relatives and friends are left to deeply feel their loss.
