Nov. 17, 2017 DENNIS WING, 88 Dennis "Red" Wing, 88, of Fenwick, passed away at his home peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Ionia. Red was born the son of Nyle and Elizabeth (Mieras) Wing on Oct. 22, 1929, in Fenwick and they along with his twin sister, Alice Edwards precede him in death. Surviving Red is his loving wife of 67 years, Eleanor; daughter, Eva Mae (Robert) Clark of Durham, New Hampshire; son, Herbert (Lynda) Wind of Fenwick; grandchildren, Chad (Dixie) Wing of Fenwick, Holly (Bill) McGivern of Washington, Mich., Katlin (Matt) Grega of Columbus, Georgia, Connor Clark of Durham, N.H., great-grandchildren, Marissa Wing and Mitchell Wing both of Fenwick, Madelyn Tipton and Owen Tipton both of Washington; sister, Marian Chambers of LaPorte, Ind.; brother, Gale (Glenda) Wing of Palo and several nieces and nephews. Red and Eleanor loved to travel, and it didn't matter if it was in their motorhome or camper, if they were going out west through the mountains or headed down south to Gulf Shores, which they did for 22 years, as long as they were together and seeing the country they were having fun. Red also enjoyed wood-working, hunting and fishing, and doing auto body repair. But most of all, Red loved his family and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Celebration of Red's life is being held on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 4-7 P.M. at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan and yo are free to come and go as your schedule allows. Final interment will take place at Clear lake Cemetery at a later date. For those wishing to made a memorial donation in Red's memory the family suggest donations be directed to the Sheridan VFW Food bank or the White Pine Library of your favorite charity.
