Winkler, 25, his wife, Nancy, 24, and son Dennis John Jr.,2, of 280 Broad St., died Sunday due to injuries from an automobile accident. Mr. Winkler was born June 15, 1955, in Hastings, the son of Richard and Betty Peacock. He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1973 and joined the Air Force after graduation. He married Nancy, May 18, 1976, in Lake Odessa and was employed at the Clifton Engineering Co., Grand Rapids branch, as an apprentice. He was a member of the Electrical Workers Union. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Winkler of Woodland; mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Carey Jr. of Portland; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Reine Peacock of Lake Odessa; three brothers, Michael of Grand Rapids, Roger of Lake Odessa and Larry of Hastings; one stepsister, Mrs. Steve (Rhonda) Barbour of Lake Odessa; and two stepbrothers, Randy and Roger, both of Camp Pendleton, Calif. Mrs. Winkler was born Nov. 8, 1955, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Bruce and Joyce Howlett Alderink. She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1973 and was employed at Herbruck Poultry Farm in Saranac for three years. Surviving her are her parents; two brothers, James Alderink of Ionia and Thomas of Clarksville; five sisters, Jane of Mount Pleasant, Sue and Lori of Grand Rapids, Amy of Clarksville and Mrs. Michael (Mary) VanDenburg of Clarksville; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Vere Howlett, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Alderink, all of Clarksville and Mrs. Pearl Alderink of Battle Creek. Services will be held for all three family members at 1:30 pm Wednesday in the Clarksville Bible Church, with the Rev. Gary Evans and the Rev. Elwood Norton officiating. Burial will be in Clarksville Cemetery. A memorial has been established and envelopes may be obtained at the chapel. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Tuesday in the Pickens- Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
