Ionia Sentinel Standard, 16 Feb 1977

James Arthur Winright, 83, of Peckins road, died Tuesday afternoon at his
residence after a short illness.  He was born April 8, 1893, in Sand Lake, the
son of Charles and Sarah Winright.

He married the former Leona Crandall December 28, 1915 in Ionia.  They lived in
Ionia county since their marriage and moved to the farm on Peckins road in 1946.
 He was a retired employee of Ypsilanti-Reed and a horse trainer for over 65 years.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, George of Otsego, Walter of Fruitport
and Carl of Wyoming; three daughters, Pauline Winright of Lyons; Mrs. Renee Hale
of Ionia and Mrs. Christine Trew of Lansing; two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Sanford
of Morley and Mrs. Nettie Vincent of Greenville; one brother, Vern of Belding;
16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Two sons preceded him in death. 

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Hull Memorial
chapel in Muir.
