The Ionia Standard, Friday, February 5, 1909

Mrs. Winslow, (daughter of Mrs. Eva Hulen, living in the Saml. Stowell 
neighborhood in Easton) died at 1:30 Tuesday p.m., from acute meningitis, 
after an illness of less than a week.  Dr. Beckwith says the alarming feature 
of the case is that it was from meningitis—-an almost uniformly fatal ailment 
at this time of year, and that it is the first case this winter to come under 
his notice.
