IONIA- Leota A. Winslow, 87, formerly of Ionia, died Saturday Oct. 28, at the 
Lowell Medical Care Center.

Leota Umphrey was born Oct. 19, 1908 in Bentley, Mich., the daughter of Levi F. 
and Leigh (Yarrington) Umphrey. She grew up and attended school in Bentley and 
married Jay C, Winslow on June 10, 1942 in Ionia. She enjoyed flower gardening 
and was a very active member of the Easton United Methodist Church and the 
Women's Society.

She is survived by son James (Therese) Winslow. She was preceded in death by 
her husband Jay, on Oct. 12, 1984; parents; son Rick; five brothers and one 
sister.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995 at the Cook Funeral 
Home, Rich Street Chapel, in Ionia with Rev. Don Wells officiating. Interment 
will be in Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday 
from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Easton United Methodist Church or the 
Grad Rapids chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes are available at 
the funeral home.
