The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 30, 1970


William E. Winter, 47, of route 3, Lake Odessa died Sunday morning at Ferguson-
Droste hospital in Grand Rapids following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 1, 1922 at Woodbury, the son of Edward and Martha Harmal 
Winter and a lifelong resident of the area.  He was a graduate of Woodland 
high school in 1941.

He was a member of Woodland Zion Lutheran church and its men’s brotherhood; an 
employee of Lake Odessa Products company 12 years and for several years worked 
at A. O. Smith in Ionia until his retirement, due to ill health, 14 months ago.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Winter of route 3, Lake Odessa; 
one sister, Mrs. James Rockafellow of Lansing.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in 
Lake Odessa.  Rev. Randall Metz will officiate and interment will be at 
Woodland Memorial Park.
