Helen Ann (Hufnagel-Martin) Wirth, Westphalia, born May 1, 1917 passed away on 
Friday, July 25, 2014.  Helen was member of St. Mary Parish and the 
Confraternity of Christian Mothers.  She had a great love for playing cards, 
quilting and baking.  Helen was the last member of the John and Clara Hufnagel 
family.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ambrose Martin in 1969 
and her second husband, Robert Wirth in 1986.

Surviving are her children Daniel (Carol) Martin (both deceased), Edward (Pat) 
Martin, Clara Twitchell, Mary (Larry) Smith and Susan (Jack) Miller; Step-
children: Thomas (Francie) Wirth and Gertrude (Ed) Lamb; sisters-in-law, Agnes 
Wirth and Clara Wirth; 27 grandchildren; 92 great grandchildren; 14 great great 
grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 
a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Westphalia.  Rite of 
Committal will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive 
friends 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Sunday and Monday at the St. Mary Funeral Chapel, 210 
N. Westphalia St., Westphalia.  The rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. 
both days.  Memorial contributions may be made to Laurels of Carson City or to 
the charity of one’s choice in memory of Helen.  Arrangements are with Lehman 
Funeral Homes.
