Ionia Sentinel, Wednesday, October 2, 1918

Mrs. Jacob Wirtz, aged 83 years, died Tuesday afternoon at 2:20 at the home of 
George Endres, Hackett street.  Funeral services will be held Thursday morning 
at 9 o’clock at the Church of SS. Peter & Paul.  She leaves one son, Frank M. 
Wirtz, and a nephew, George Endres, both of this city, and one brother, Adam 
Endres, who lives in New Salem, Allegan county.  Mrs. Wirtz was born in Germany 
in 1834 and came to Ionia in 1883, much of this time she lived with her son.  
She was married in Germany and Mr. Wirtz died two years ago.  They came to 
America together, bringing four children, Frank M. Wirtz being the only one 
living.
