Ionia Sentinel, February 1962

Peter J. Wirtz, 56 of 2344 West Main street, Lansing, died at Sparrow hospital 
early Monday morning.  

He was born June 28, 1905 near Hastings in Barry county, the son of Mr. and 
Mrs. Frank Wirtz, and had made his home in Ionia until six years ago when he 
moved to Lansing.  He was employed 28 years at Lansing Fisher Body Plant.

Surviving are his wife, Clara; two daughters, Mrs. J (Clara Gene) Montgomery of 
Ionia, and Mrs. Floyd Bogart, Jr., of Minooka, Ill.; a son, Jack Wirtz of 
Ionia; 10 grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Wirtz and Gerald Wirtz of Ionia, 
and Gene Wirtz of Wayland; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bird of Grand Rapids, and 
Sister Mary Sylvester of Detroit. 

Funeral arrangements are being made at Myers funeral home.
