Hastings Reminder, 31 Dec 1991

Dorothy Ruth Wise, 85 of 7176 Brown Road, Lake Odessa, passed away Monday, 
December 23, 1991 at her residence.

She was born December 2, 1906 in Woodland the son of Bernie and Cora (Jordan) 
Smith.  She attended Woodland Schools and married Buel Wise, June 5, 1935.  He 
preceded her in death on November 30, 1983.  They lived and farmed in the Lake 
Odessa/Woodland area all their life.  Mrs. Wise was a member of the Hope Church 
of the Brethren.

Mrs. Wise is survived by two sons, John Wise of Lansing, Coridon Wise of Lake 
Odessa; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren 
and four step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Joel Wise, June 19, 1974; one brother, 
Leslie Smith, June 3, 1991.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 27 at the Koops Funeral Chapel, 
Lake Odessa, with Reverend LeRoy Griffin officiating.  Burial in Woodland 
Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Church of the 
Brethren, Barry Community Hospice or the VFW Hospital Fund.
