Bert Jay Wise, 62, of 879 S. Sheridan Road, Stanton, died Friday, April 10,
1992, at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids.  Custodian at the Montcalm County
Courthouse and a city of Ionia employee, Mr. Wise was born May 20, 1929, in
Holly to Elmer and Emma Austin Wise.

He resided for many years with his niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Larry
Hanline of Stanton, who survive.

He is also survived by a brother, Louis Wise of Goodells; three sisters,
Margaret Bush, Mount Pleasant, Mary Cross, Grand Rapids, Minn., Dolores
Rosenbum, Skidway Lake; a sister-in-law, Norma Wise, Ionia; several nieces and
nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Albert.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Hull
Memorial Chapel, Muir, conducted by the Rev. James Bennett of Ionia First
Baptist Church.  Interment is in Tuttle Cemetery.
