                           FRANCIS V. WITHERSPOON

IONIA - Francis V.Witherspoon, 75, of Ionia died Thursday at  his home.

He was born Feb. 25, 1914, in Port Austin, Mich., the son of Edward and Barbara 
Witherspoon.

He was a teacher inMichigan Public Schools for 44 years, in Huron, Saginaw, 
Midland and Ionia Counties.

He taught and was an administrator in Ionia Public Schools for 32 years, with 
service at Ionia High School, Rather, Jefferson and Twin Rivers Elementary 
Schools.

He was a member of the Michigan Education Association, the National Association 
of Retired School Personnel, and Kiwanis Club.

Surviving are his wife Nellie; a son, Lyle of Lansing; a daughter, Mrs.William 
(Saundra) Evans of Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Michael and Christine Evans; 
a brother, Ralph, of Columbia, S.C., eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Complete funeral services will be held at 230 p.m. Monday from Cook funeral 
Home, with the re. Keith Bovee officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial CGGardens.

The family will be at the funeral home 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. 
and 7 to 8:30 p.m Sunday.
