Mr. Witt was born in Otisco township and resided there until five years ago, when he moved to Montcalm. On the 29th of Nov. 1888 he was married to Cora Bell Blackmer, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Cowles, a wife, five children, one brother, two sisters and a father and mother remain to mourn his departure. His remains were brought to Belding Saturday and laid to rest in River Ridge cemetery. Mr. Witt was a member of the Oddfellow fraternity which order took part in the burial, also a member of the Maccabees and carried a $1000 policy. Mr. Witt had a large circle of friends in this part of the county and was an excellent citizen. His death in the prime of life is a sad blow to his family who have the sympathy of all in their great bereavement.
