Ionia Daily Standard - Mon. Feb. 26, 1934

Charles Willis Witt, 73-years-old, was found dead in his bed, Monday morning by 
Mrs. Witt, at their farm home ˝ mile west of Potters corners. Mr. Witt was born 
in Otisco township in 1961 he married Nellie Tillison of Otisco, two children 
being born, the eldest, Belle dying several years ago, and Mrs. Laura Stone of 
Grand Rapids. Thirty years ago they moved from Belding to the farm in Keene, 
where he died, he was not feeling well last week but was about the farm doing 
his usual work when during the night Sunday he suffered a heart attack. He 
leaves besides his widow and daughter, a sister, Mrs. Edward Brown of Grand 
Rapids, and three children. Funeral services will be held at the home in Keene 
Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Interment at the family lot in Saranac 
cemetery.
