Barbara Louise (Bigler) Wittenbach of Ionia went to be with her heavenly Father 
on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.  Barbara was born on June 2, 1930, and grew up in 
Grand Rapids.  

She graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1947.  Later that year she 
married George E. Wittenbach in August 1947. He preceded her in death on Sept. 
19, 1991.  Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Paula Kay, who passed 
away on April 10, 1965. 

Together, they had 10 children: Steven (Karen), Chris (Gail), C. Dean (Julie), 
Joel (Debra), Jan (Yvonne), Patrick (Terri), James, Kim (Karla), and Anne 
Swinehart (Scott).  She leaves behind a legacy of 27 grandchildren and 34 great 
grandchildren (with two more to come soon). 

Barbara and George began Stevencrest Jersey Farm in Ionia, Mich., in 1971.  She 
will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother in the hearts and 
memories of her family. 

The Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at 
Merriman Cemetery, Alto, Mich.  The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. 
Sunday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich St., Ionia.
