Witzel died Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the home at 325 Welton street, after a sickness of only a few days. She was the daughter of Mrs. Emma Witzel and left besides her mother, four brothers, two in France, one in the last contingent which left here for Virginia, and one in the next call. She also leaves a sister, Miss Mayme, who is also reported sick with influenza. Miss Witzel had been an employee of the Citizens Telephone Co. for nearly three years, and the news of her sudden demise was received by her wide circle of friends with a grief that was heartfelt. She was of such a cheerful disposition—so reassuring in her cheeriness, that it was a real pleasure to be in her presence. She was born in Ionia, and knew no other home that the one in which the light of her life went out.
