Gwen F. Wizorek, 85, of Ionia, passed away April 22, 2003 at Spectrum Health-
Butterworth Campus.  She was born on May 16, 1917 in Ionia, the daughter of 
August and Elsie (Walker) Schadler.  She graduated from Ionia High School in 
1935.  She married Robert “Bud” Wizorek on July 15, 1937. 

Mrs. Wizorek was a lifelong member, and was baptized at the St. Johns 
Episcopal Church in Ionia, and was also a member of the Church Guild.  She 
greatly enjoyed tennis and bowling, and was a good grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bud” Wizorek, on January 19, 
2003; two children, France Elizabeth and Richard Allen.  Surviving are son 
Robert (Vearl) Wizorek Jr. of Ionia; two grandchildren, Christine and Robert 
III; great-grandchildren, Andrew Nicholas, Shelby, Jared, Chelcey and Sierah; 
brother, Herman Schadler of Wyoming.  

A memorial service will be conducted by Fr. Scott Anderson, pastor, at 11 a.m. 
Saturday at the St. Johns Episcopal Church, 107 W. Washington Street, Ionia 
with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Ionia.  The family will receive friends 
at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Cook Chapel, 220 Rich Street, Ionia from 
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.  For those desiring, memorial contributions may be 
made to the St. Johns Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, or to the Ionia Area 
Hospice, in memory of Gwendolyn F. Wizorek.
