The first to succumb was Mrs. Edith Wohlscheid who passed away at the home of her mother, Mrs. Catherine Trierweiler on East street at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. The body was removed from the Bandfield parlors to the home Wednesday. Funeral services will be held from the St. Patrick church at 9 o’clock Friday morning, with burial in the Catholic annex of Portland cemetery. The deceased had been ill for several years, having been brought home from the hospital three years ago. For the last five weeks she had been confined to her bed. Mrs. Wohlscheid was born at Eagle in 1891. She was graduated from Portland High school and for many years was employed at the State Building in Lansing. Besides the mother she is survived by three sisters: Mrs. O. H. Bailey of Lansing, Mrs. Aurelia Moote of Detroit and Miss Marion Trierweiler of Portland. The father and brother are dead.
