Charles H. Wohlscheid, 84, of Portland, passed away on March 6, 2006.  He was
born on July 5, 1921, in Eagle the son of Anthony and Gladys (Patrick)
Wohlscheid.  Charles was a lifelong area farmer, who enjoyed talking to anybody
that would listen.  He enjoyed making bluebird houses and going to Burger King.
 He was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church and retired from
Michigan Supply Co. in 1983. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances, sister, Joyce Gibbs,
brother-in-law, William Galey, sister-in-law, Verna Wohlscheid.  Surviving are
his sons, Tom (Janet) and Gary (Patty), both of Portland, and Chuck (Diane) Jr.
of Eagle; grandchildren Mike (Diania), Scott (Hailey), Angie (Lu), Kelly (Dave),
Gary (Rocio) Jr., Larry, Beth (Ryan), Heather (Chris), Valerie (Matt) and Tony;
12 great grandchildren; brothers, Howard Wohlscheid of Portland and Robert
Wohlscheid of Ionia; sister Dortha Galey of Portland.

Funeral services were conducted by Pastor Gregory R. Wolfe, Portland United
Methodist Church, March 10, at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. 
Interment was held in North Eagle Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made
to Portland United Methodist Church in memory of Charles.
