Dec. 2, 2008 Geneva Wohlscheid, 89, of Pewamo, a loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, went to the Lord on Nov. 29, 2008 surrounded by her loving children. She was greeted by her husband, Isidore Wohlscheid, whom she married on Nov. 30, 1940 in Fowler. Geneva was born in Fowler, Feb. 14, 1919 the daughter of John and Anna (Schneider) Kramer. Geneva was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed baking and sharing her homemade breads with friends and neighbors. She is survived by her nine children, Roy (Mary Margaret) Wohlscheid of Clinton Twp., James Sr. (Brenda Jackway) Wohlscheid of Lansing, John (Ann Marie) Wohlscheid of DeWitt, Janice Spitzley of Westphalia, Edward Wohlscheid of Lansing, Marie (Terry) Medlock of Eaton Rapids, Francis Wohlscheid of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Susan (Luke) Koenigsknecht of St. Johns and Marcia (Kevin) Miller of Portland. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and her brother-in-law, Donald Ott. Geneva is preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson Jeremy Spitzley; brothers, Matthew, Paul, Gerald and Roy and her sister Josetta Ott. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pewamo. The family will receive visitors at the Goerge Chapel of Osgood Funeral Homes in Fowler, Sunday evening 7 to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday evening and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday with rosaries at 3 and 8 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westphalia. Donations can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church and the parish mission, Lvia Joseph Orphanage in Haiti. In lieu of thank you notes, a donation of masses will be sent to the Marianist Missions.
